hey do any one know the abbrevation of VS in VS cobol.

It's not VS Cobol, it is OS/VS Cobol. VS stands for virtual storage. This was the version when we only got ANSI-74 syntax and were bound the the 16Mb line. Not Y2K compliant and no LE-services (but with report-writer and ANSI-68 features icon_smile.gif )
