How can we determine the number of recs in a flat file thru a batch utility ?

Is it possible to route the output ( i.e., number of recs ) to a file ?

Thanks,
Ramkumar M.

I think that DFSORT offers the best solution.

Devzee,

I've had to change two of your posts today. Please see the changes I made to the one above.

It's fine to point people to my Smart DFSORT Tricks paper, but please be more specific. There are lots of tricks in my paper, so pointing people to the paper itself is not very helpful. Please give the specific trick by name. Also, please use the URL I gave above as it will always work whereas other URLs may not work in the future if the server changes.
