I am transmitting few files via FTP to a unix server from mainframe. Currently I put the file name that will be used at unix server. Now I am trying the zip the files using PKZIP. When the file is unzipped in unix server the last qualifier of the file is used as file name. Is there a way to change this while zipping so that the file names will remain same as earlier. |

Hello and welcome to the forums,
This does not look like a cobol topic, so i've moved it to the "Other Mainframe Topics" part of the forum.
Please post an example of what is happening and what you would rather have happen. I'm not sure i understand the requirement. |

Currently I am sending the files via FTP in the following way
<ip address>
<user name>
<password>
put 'mainfram.file.name1' FILE1
put 'mainfram.file.name2' FILE2
quit
Now I want to zip the files and FTP the zip file to server. The server is going to unzip the file and start processing. I am using PKZIP. The problem is when I zip them and when the server unzips it, the files are being saved as NAME1 and NAME2 (Basically the last qualifier of the mainframe file). I want to know if I can mention the file name as FILE1 and FILE2 while zipping so that when the server unzips it, the files get saved as FILE1 and FILE2 only. |
