hi
i want to eliminate a record using a particular field.

for ex
123456 acdsf 346789
123456 acdsf 345667-eliminate this record..
123456 acdsf 123455
123456 acdsf 666897

Hello,

Try these control statements
Code:
//SYSIN   DD *                                         
     OPTION COPY                                       
     OMIT COND=(startpos,6,CH,EQ,C'345667')     


This should copy the file leaving out any record with 345667 starting with the position you specify.
