Hi ,

I need to read data from a GSAM file in an Online transaction .

I know we can define GSAM physical name in JCL in a Batch job

But for Online transactions , we don't have JCL . How do i link the PCB of GSAM in my PSB with the physical name of GSAM datasets .

for e.g Physical name of my GSAM dataset that i can access using ISPF option 3.4 is ' NACCAR.GSAM.DB'

how would Online transaction link with this GSAM dataset.

Thanks and Regards,
Jasveer Singh

I posted this sticky hoping people would follow the hints in it. Follow the first link there, search for GSAM and learn all about it. If you can't find what you looked for feel wellcome to get back.

Hi,

I could find some data about accessing GSAM file in IMS DC environment .

But no information is given about linking Physical GSAM dataset with its
PCB definition as in application PSB .

Please Help

The physical GSAM dataset name is mentioned in the DBD and in the PSB-gen. Search harder icon_wink.gif

GSAM is for IMS BMP and not for IMS MPP.

The link was to make TS do some investigation by himself. It's not the first question about GSAM.
