Hi,
While defining base cluster in VSAM, what is the default option for UPGRADE? I mean if no UPGRADE/NOUPGRADE is mentioned what should be assumed?
Thanking you,

I doubt we have any UPGRADE parameter while defining base cluster. If you are referring any manaul, what does it say? |

There indeed is an option UPGRADE in defining the AIX.
guruji,
I hope this link will answer your question

I think NOUPGRADE is the default. We should be careful in using this UPGRADE option as it will create lot of overhead, when ever any record changes in base cluster the alterante cluster also changes accordingly |
