Hi,
We have a huge IAM file and are looking for any tuning options. We ran IAMINFO to get details about the file. We got the report but not sure how to read and intrepret it.
Though the report said "SPECIFYING A BUFNO VALUE GREATER THAN 32 MAY IMPROVE PERFORMANCE" I am not sure how to set the BUFNO value. In the JCL we have (BUFNI=20, BUFND=50). Also not sure as what parameter to look for tuning?

The IAMINFO report:
Code:

BUFNO is the buffer parameter for NON VSAM datasets.

IAM is a completely stand alone access method developed and marketed by Innovation Data Processing, so my first suggestion would be to look through the relevant documentation for the IAM product.

If in doubt - contact your support people at IDP - they are usually pretty helpful.
