In case of our shop,it doesnot allow to enter data after 72nd column.I hope this will be the case in the most of the shops.
But still ,I think it is an open question to everyone since it may vary icon_question.gif

icon_sad.gif Has anyone considered looking in the manuals.

Do not code fields, except on the comment statement, past column 71. If the total length of the fields would exceed 71 columns, continue the fields onto one or more following statements

Column 72 used to be used as a continuation indicator but is no longer used and 73-80 were used for sequence numbers. I think the system ignores 73-80 (except for site specific edits).

We can write after 72nd columns upto 80th colums, but that will consider as a comment. In our shop, we uses these columns to write identification marks to the changed lines of the programs.
