IIRC, during the initialization phase, the programs running in the PLT can find out....I'll do a little searching.....

By golly, look what a little looking got me....
EC INQUIRE SYSTEM
STARTUP(cvda)
returns a CVDA value indicating how the current execution of CICS started. CVDA values are:
COLDSTART
CICS performed an initial or a cold start.
Note: The STARTUP option does not distinguish between an initial and a cold start. See the COLDSTATUS option.
EMERGENCY
CICS performed an emergency restart because the previous run did not shut down normally.
WARMSTART
CICS performed a warm restart following the normal shutdown of the previous run.

Thank you William,

your answer must be right, but I am just a system operator and I don't have authorization to login CICS.
I work in the TSO, SDSF, so I need another resolve.

Hello,

You may find what you want in the console log or in the msguser sysout of the executing CICS. It may also be in some other CICS sysout which you probably have access to without actually logging onto CICS.

I thought you meant programmaticly....
The type start is in one of the early console DFH messages, IIRC, after the bulk of the services have been started but prior to any PLTs kicking off....I'll look around and see if I can find the DFH number, would make an easy to find.

Kolex,

In the Jeslog for the CICS region in question, look for message DFHSI1502I.

It will look something like this:
Code:
21.04.51 JOB07224  +DFHSI1502I APLCICS CICS STARTUP IS INITIAL.
