Any tool to compare Tape files?

Hi Friends,

Could you plz suggest me how to compare the tape files?
Pl also say how to view the tape file information?

You can use the IBM compare utility to compare tape files, and as for viewing the contents of a tape, you will need to download it to DASD.

EComp is able to process directly from tapes ( i.e.)

EComp is an independent software ( I invented ) which can cross compare any objects on IBM Mainframes : SAM, VSAM, DB2 tables, Queues, unloads od BD2 ( IBM, BMC ),extracts of SPUFI, QMF, SDSF, DDL's, Structures, apple, pear.... "Cross" means you can compare a SAM file with the content of a DB2 table, or a VSAM with a SAM, etc

The power of utility is in a nutshell : great variety of criteria ( select, where clause, mutation, tolerance, reformat, timestamp neutralisation, ... )and clear results : direct to the spot.

TapeFile informations and content could be displayed by using IBM's
DITTO utility.

Have a look at Bookmanager for more informations od DITTO-Functions.

Hello,

If you ask your system support prople, they can tell you if DITTO is available on your system.

They can also give you execution jcl.
