Good afternoon:

This is going to be a very interesting job. I want to know if it is possible to submit a job in MVS from a java module executing in an OMVS region.

This is when we don't have any interfaces (like CTG, MQ) in the middle(between Java and Mainframe).

I am running out of steam thinking if it is possible at all.

Please give me a yell if you think this can be done.

Thanks much

If you do search in popular search engine for text "from java submit mainframe jcl"
you get first search result of http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/eserver/library/es-batch-zos.html

This has been posted long back in 2005 so not new interesting topic.

Dick, Dev, Superk,

It sure is new and strange for me to even think of why people would want to have an Distributed component from a Legacy system without an interface !

Sometimes the business needs can only appall me.

Thanks much for taking time to answer. I would keep you guys posted should I ever stumble upon a solution for this.

Hava good weekend, cant wait icon_biggrin.gif
