Good Afternoon:
I have stumbled upon a problem. The situation is I am trying to list all the datasets for a hlq using LISTCAT LVL(HLQ) ALL. Now this comes up with all the dataset characteristics. Since I dont need the dataset characteristics, I thought I would sort the outout(outcome of LISTCAT) and then to use OMIT or INCLUDE condition to have dataset names (displayed against NONVSAM word) alone.
I am displaying a partial output for your reference.

There probably better way to get a list of DSNs, but....
Which line/lines do you want to keep and what part of those line? |

Thanks for the responses.
Bill, There might be a lot of ways and there is no denying of that. I just used the Listcat command coz I thought it was something I knew. Coming back to what you asked for, I would like to see the datasets alone (for instance, the sample that was posted has a dataset name against a NONVSAM verb, howerver please keep in mind that there might be a possibility of the VSAM file being in the DASD so to have an OMIT verb use NONVSAM in the Constant field migt not be a right for me.
Expat, The intent is to have all the datasets corresponding to the qualifier so if I were to remove that would that not be a problem? |

Expat, In my haste I sent out the response without checking out what you said.
I removed ALL verb and guess what, the listing seems much nicer now. But I still have a problem, I need to do away with the IDCAMS and the IN-CAT thingy.
Lemme check if the OMIT verb can be used and I will continue the research. Thanks so much for your help.
