HI,
My requirement is,
1) From the cics screen I have to take cst-nbr and date
2) Need to run one Batch Report program, which uses that information and generated
report.
3) Finally On screen display message 'Report generated'.

Can any one tell me How to submitt JCL through CICS.

Thanks
Nilesh

The TDQ method is very common, however there is another method: you can use the SPOOL commands (SPOOLCLOSE, SPOOLOPEN, SPOOLWRITE etc.).

Hello,

You might consider changing this
Quote:
3) Finally On screen display message 'Report generated'.
to
"Report Submitted".

Once you've sent the report job to batch, it may not run at that second, so informing the requestor that it was successfully submitted may be a more meaningful message (rather than saying it was "created").

I would recommend using the Spool Commands.

Hi,

Can anyone please answer the below Nilesh's question. I too have the same problem, I want to trigger a batch program from Online depending on few conditions.
Actually i want to store the Online SQLcodes and description in the flat GDG files for future reference.

Thanks,
Abdul

Have you looked at batchcics vendor software that would allow you to run the transaction using a batch cobol program and extract the information
you need for report?
