Can anyone tell me what is the difference between Force completing a job and cancelling a job?
Also I want to know how to submit a job manually through CA7?
Thanks

Force Completing a job means ending a job from execution state before it completes execution.
For example if a job executes 5 steps usually ,you can force complete the job in step3 and skipping the remaining 2 steps execution.
Remember that, force completion can be done only by Production Control or System Side people in your shop.
You cannot submit the job manually through CA7 unless you have the access to do it.Generally CA7 access is with system side people in your firm.Do check and confirm whether you have access. |

if the job you want to f/c or cancel is an internal requirement of another job, after f/c, the requirment will be posted auto, but after cancelling, the requirement still exists |

In other words
If there is a job dependency i.e. if the force completed job is precedent to any other job then force completion would trigger the successor job where as on cancellation the successor would still be waiting in queue which is not desirable in many situations |
