Dear Mr.Somaundran,
I found some books in IBM Redbook publishers. But the problem is which book to start which topics to learn, what are the real time required topics to learn and soon....., as i should start learning from the scratch
Books which i found are
High Level Assembler for MVS & VM & VSE Programmers Guide (Version 5) and
High Level Assembler for MVS & VM & VSE Tool Kit Feature Guide (Version 5)

Dear Som i need to learn on my own........

Thanking You,
Ajay Chandra

Hi

I suggest you start with z/Architecture Principles of Operations which
defines
the mainframe instruction set which is compatible from the earliest S/360
models in 1960's
through 370's, 390's, and latest z/Architecture 64 bit addressing capable
machines:

publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/BOOKS/DZ9ZR003/CCONTENT
S

Then I'd move on to the IBM High Level Language Assembler Reference which
defines the mainframe assembler language which has also remained relatively
compatible since the 1960's:

publibfp.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/asmr1010/CCONTENTS

Then I'd move on to the great higher level presentations on HLASM by John
Erhman
at SHARE here:

www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/hlasm/share.html

Beyond understanding the basic machine architecture and the assembly
language used
to generate instructions and data, then there is the need to learn the
macros available for
a specific IBM operating system such as OS/390, z/OS, VM, VSE, etc. Each of
these
operating systems come with their own unique assembler macro libraries which
are used
to generate operating system dependent code. If you are interested in
OS/390 with is
generally compatible at the macro interface level with older MVS operating
systems and
the newer z/OS operating systems, then I would use the z/OS macro library
reference to
insure your code is upward compatible. A place to start is the z/OS
assembler services manual and the z/OS Using Data Sets manuals and it goes
on forever from there:

publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/BOOKS/IEA2A630/CCONTENT
S?DT=20020625111237

publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/BOOKS/DGT2D510/CCONTENT
S?DT=20020110113324

For more information on IBM HLASM, visit the IBM HLASM site here:

www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/hlasm/library.html#hlasm5

I'd be interested in others recommendations for new comers?

Hi Ajay Chandra and chandramouli
I'm really sorry for the belated reply. It took me quiet a lot of time to locate those study materials as expected. I'm sending you(PM) both some material that I found useful.
