I have added new fields to the exixting segment in database. I have also defined those fields in the PHYSICAL DBD and DBDGEN the DBD. But my program uses a logical DBD which in turn refers to the physical DBD for the changed segment.
Do i need to DBDGEN the LOGICAL DBD as well?

Quote:
Logical DBD

DBD NAME=NPDE006,ACCESS=LOGICAL
DATASET LOGICAL
SEGM NAME=EMAT,PARENT=EROOT,SOURCE=((PEMAT,DATA,NPDE001))

Physical DBD

SEGM NAME=PEMAT,PARENT=PEROOT,BYTES=600,POINTER=(TWIN,,,,),
RULES=(,FIRST)

PEMAT is the impacted segment.

Your NPDE006 connects to the NPDE001 which is a different database(SOURCE....) so I'd recommand a DBDGEN for the NPDE006.
