Hello,
What type of binary data are you planning to send from UNIX to the mainframe?
Is the entire file binary or is some of it text? |

Part of the file contains TEXT data as well. |

Hello,
Back to the original question - what kind of binary data are you going to transfer from the UNIX system to the mainframe? Are these totals, are these quantities and amounts, are these rates, are these on-off bit switches? How are they created on the UNIX system? Also, please give a few examples of your binary data and show the hexadecimal values for some.
If you want to send the text and have it translated to ebcdic but retain the binary composition of the non-text fields, you will most likely have difficulties. |

I would imagine that all of the options you need to use are well-documented in the CONNECT:Direct Process User's Guide for the flavor of UNIX you're using. |
