Hi,
How to convert a group of statements in a PS or PDS member from Lower case to Upper case or Visa versa. Please let me know if any line command / primary command to do so or any other way.
Thanks

For goodness sake, press HELP, and select option 12. Edit Line Commands. Look at option 5. Text Handling commands. |

Thanks Superk,
Inaddition to Superk says, after pressing HELP,
goto option 2 - create or change source data
select option 12 - Edit line commands
select option 5 - Text Handling commands
use the text handling line commands
UCxx - To change lines of text from Lower case to upper case.
LCxx - To change lines of text from Upper case to Lower case.
where xx - Number of lines to be case changed.
Regards

Hi Lakshmi,
Thanx for letting us know the details of your experience. It will go a long way in educating all of us out here.
Sadly, it's a common experience here to see an answer provided (sometimes more than one) followed by silence from the one benefited. No clue as to whether the advice was helpful or in error, a piece of info of enormous potential benefit to all members.
It's refreshing to come across someone here who is unselfish enough to take the time to share the benefits he's reaped.
Thanx again, Lakshmi. |

Hi mmwife,
Thanks for letting me know.
I followed the steps(advice) provided by Superk and figured out the commands UC, LC. Since one of the steps was missing i have repeated the steps provided by Superk and continued the line commands info also to make it bit clearer which would be useful for others as well.
My Intension is to share the info which i got to know, with every one in the forum so that it would be helpful to others as well. sorry for any misconceptions.
Regards

You can also put CAPS ON on the command line to convert all the text in the PS to Uppercase. Regarding Line Commands or Block Commands yr finding is correct. |
