Requirement to capture Month, Year

I have a question regarding capturing the current month and year.

I have a requirement of capturing current month and year and a parm should be updated (In the format like MMMYYYY i.e For this month it should be updated like MAY2007 For next month it should be like JUN2007).

Currently it is getting done manually. My requirement is it to be automated.

Please don't suggest me to code a new program from scratch.

As the parm will be used as for appending as a last qualifier for the dataset to be identified as it is created in this month and is getting used as input in IEBGENER utility.

The topic posted by rahulkolhe2003 looks like it should give you a good starting point. You will, of course, have to create the logic to translate the two-digit numeric month value into the three-character alpha equivilent.
