How to know the Creator of Dataset ?
by pressing F11 in 3.4 panel, we can able to know the creation date.
is there any way to know the Creator name in 3.4 ? |

No, there isn't.
Once the dataset has been created, the only way that I'm aware of to find the creator is by using the SMF records.
I think it is type 61 that you want, which records the creation of catalog entries, so just as long as the person created the dataset with DISP=(,CATLG,...... you should be OK. |

Another question seen a lot on these forums. I'm curious where people are getting the false concept that datasets have owners. |

Back in the pre SMS days it was a nightmare sometimes trying to find out who "owned" which datasets and could they be deleted, but thankfully SMS helped enforce reasonable standards, and HSM actioned them.
Unless it is a non SMS environment, or with extremely lax standards I can't really see a reason for knowing who created what or when, just migrate it off to tape and let it expire naturally. |

Hello,
UNIX files have 3 sets of permissions for "owner", "group", and "other".
In many Windows environments, the person who creates a file is listed as the "owner". |
