In XPEDTITER/IMS,

I have 3 IMS transactions. I need to test whether they are working properly or not ?

What is the procedure to test a transaction?

I couldn't find the PGM's which uses that transactions? How to find that?

Can any one show some light on this?

Thanks in Advance

Hi,

As per my Project, the first 6 digits are common to program as well as for the Transaction.

Let my program be BX0D41SD. then the transaction will be as BX0D41AU.

I think its up to your IMS Adminstrator to decide the naming convention of the transaction.

Hope this helps you.

Cheers

Hi,

As i haven't worked on Xpediter, i have hands on only Smartest (which is same as Xpediter).

I will explain you in Smartest.

Once you find the transaction, select the transaction and connect it to the program.

Once you connect to the program. You can use following Function keys

PF4 - Execute till End or till Break point.
PF6 - Step by step Execution.

The above function keys may vary in Xpediter(Search for the manual in Forum).

Hope this hepls you.

Cheers

Hi,

But I couldn't find the PGM's which uses the transaction?

Confused on the above sentence.

Whether ur intension is to find all the programs which calls the transaction or

If you intent to find all the programs which uses the same transaction (I believe transaction ID id Unique, if not then this is out of my memory)

As the transaction ID's are created by the IMS Admin. we used to have a PDS which contains list of transactions and by our project naming convention it was easier for us to find the transaction and program (as both shares some common word).

I think its better to ask some seniors in your project. As our discussion is as railway track path.

Cheers
