Hi all,
While using DFSRRC00 in an IMS program, can we also use the parameter to pass a normal variable data from the JCL , and read it thru "procedure division using link-parm"???
how to go about it if it can be done?
Thanks in advance |

The PARM vlaues passed through DFSRRC00 will be assigned to the linkage variables defined in that program...u can't see the source code of this program...all the values passed are accordinglly assigned...if u pass any extra values ur prog will abend... |

Correct: one starts IMS (DFSRRC00) and not the program executing the logic. DFSRRC00 invokes the 'logic program' like it were a submodule but without any knowledge about parameters to be passed to thad module. The solution depends on the type of program; with DC create a startup screen where you may enter the parameters which are sent in a message and can be intepreted by the 'startup' transaction. With DB you may use a database, sysin or any OS-file containing the needed information for your program. |

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Is there some reason you replied to a topic that has been inactive for 4 years wth nothing other than a "smiley"?
You need to reply to currently active topics (or start a new one n the proper part of the forum) with something meaningful.
You've been a member for almost a year and should understand this concept from merely reading topics. |
