Hi all
I encountered an error. Thought of sharing it with you!!!
I was trying to sort and write the records from QSAM file to VSAM file. But i got the error 0c logical vsam error with RC=16
It was because of the sort fields mentioned. The file actually takes first three fields together as a key while the sort card had only two sort keys..

WOW - thank you.
What were the error messages given by the SORT, and what did the manual say about them ? |

Hi
VSAM LOGICAL ERROR 0C ON OUTPUT -- This was the message in the spool.. I think 0C is for 0 count on output. Am i right??
I just browsed for the error The message was
012(0C) You attempted to store a record out of Ascending Key Sequence
in Skip-Sequential Mode; record had a Duplicate Key; for
Skip-Sequential processing your GET, PUT, and POINT Requests
are not referencing records in Ascending Sequence; or, for
Skip-Sequential Retrieval, the key requested is lower than the
previous key requested. For Shared Resources, buffer pool is full.

So what happens when you sort the records on the key defined for the VSAM file ? i.e. The first three fields, as you have said. |

Hello vishnu.priya, and welcome to the forums,
Have you resolved the problem?
If not, make sure your qsam file is completly in sequence by the vsam key and that there are no duplicates. |
