Do a search on the web and you can find lots of trial and free emulators. |

Hello,
I am not clear on your request.
Do you want to emulate the mainframe on your pc or are you looking for a terminal emulator to connect to a mainframe? |

the subject line implies one thing, the text asks for something different ...
as far as 3270 terminal emulators
linux has x3270
You can install it thru a standard distribution command ...
( rpm, apt, emerge, ....)
mac os x has a tn3270 from brown university
the link is : www.brown.edu/Facilities/CIS/tn3270/
as far as windoze is concerned there are no standard free emulators
vista 3270 is the ( shareware ) cheapest one
but if You like the hard work You could install a unix emulation layer
called CYGWIN and install a x3270
( thru a standard CYGWIN setup dialog)
If You ask for a MF hardware emulator the way to go is "hercules"
here is the link : www.conmicro.cx/hercules/
but You get only the MF emulator with no operating system and strict legal
rules for the systems You can run on it

I have downloaded Hercules from CBTTAPE, I don't know how to play with it
But I think OP wants something else.
There are some companies which run T-SERVERS in their shop which are capable of running mainframe o/s on them. They provide access to their customers for training/ other purposes, but it is strictly paid service.
I never used it though, but heard they charge for processor use.. |

Hello,
There are many 3270-emulators that are either shareware or offer a "free trial".
If you do a web search for "3270 emulator" and "free" you will get many hits. |

Can anyone please tell us which company offers access to mainframe for training and for other usages online ?

Thanks |

Hello,
Please clarify this

I'm sure your question is very clear to you, but it is not clear to others (me ).
Most places that have mainframe resources available for training are educational organizations and companies that have internal training programs - some places hire trainiees.
What "other usages online" do you have in mind? There are organizations that "sell" time, but usually the price is more than an individual would want to pay. |

Hercules is the way to go. But you can get it with mvs 3.8j free and legal. My recommendation is to get mvs-turnkey. It's pretty painless to setup and there is a nice email list that is eager to help. |
