how much size this this variable take

-9(4).99

whether is it 6 or 8 ? And how?

Total Size occupied will be 8 bytes.

'-' and '.' occupies 1 byte each explicitly.

If we use s9(4)v99 then - and . will be assumed implicitly and occupies 6 bytes.

do let me know if you have concerns over it.

It will occupy 8 bytes as - and . both are editing characters.
