hii,
packed decimal internal format is hexadecimal,here one seperate nible is occupied for sign ,but in zoned decimal case no seperate nible for sign,sign will zoned on last byte only. |

In zoned decimal format sign will be over punched on the data byte (lastbyte).
In packed decimal format sign will take 1/2 byte extra to store separately. |
