Does anyone know how to use Xenos JES-MASTER ?
How do we pull the spool messages into a dataset ? What is the command for that ? |

Unless you are a sysprog - please don't play with the system spool datasets.
The spool is usually unloaded once a day at a given time, either onto tape or DASD as is the whim of the sysprogs. This can be accessed easily once unloaded. |

Hello,
Which spool messages are you referring to?
If you mean the jes output related to a job in the spool, you can do that from SDSF.
As mentioned earlier - don't play withe the spool datasets. . . |

Sorry my mistake, by spool messages I meant the JES output related to a job in the spool as rightly pointed out. I need to copy the JES messages as a PDS member. Earlier when I was using SDSF, I used to execute the command XDC against the JES message to copy them to a PDS. Now that I am using JESMASTER, the same command XDC does not work. I don't know how to go about it. |

Hello,
Look up an SDSF command called PRINT ODSN.
If i recall, you issue the PRINT ODSN specifying the dataset(member), select what you want and PRINT it, and when you have processed all that you want in the file/member enter PRINT CLOSE.
That isn't a very good explanation, but between that and the doc, hopefully, you will be able to do what you want.
We're here if you have questions |
