Hi,

I have an requirement as follows:

1 Input file.
3 Output files.

In the input file, i should take the year after the 35th occurence of '!' (exclamation) and based on if it is 2005 or 2006 or 2007, it should be written to the corresponding output file.

The issue is, the occurence of '!' doesn't happen in a pre-determined position. It can occur anywhere.

Please help.

Thanks & Best Regards,
OP

It's not clear to me what you mean by this. Please show an example of the records in your input file and the expected output records. Also, state the RECFM and LRECL of the input file.
