Why all the sudden interest in old IBM utilities?

Even though Dick Scherer commented on this inside another topic inside the JCL forum, I want to raise it again for more visibility.

From what I have observed the use of IEBCOPY, IDCAMS and the RESTART keyword would serve most requirements. There are occasional needs for the old utilities but IDCAMS for one is quite versatile.
