Well if you don't want to use the easiest and most convenient method to recover your dataset, I'd have to ask why and also is this a homework question ?

Yes, theer are ways to recover deleted data from the DASD itself, but there are no guarantees that this is possible.

The reason is I issed the same (HRECOVER) but i got ARC1128I error which means "BACKUP/DUMP COPY DOES NOT EXIST"

DFS is used to control the backup copy of the dataset but in our case it is not their, I knew File aid must be having, so kindly let me know if you know that option in file-aid.

Thanks in advance

It sounds to me like you may not be able to recover this dataset.

If HSM has no full volume dump(s) of the volume(s) on which the dataset resided, nor any backup of the dataset taken during the daily backups process, then your only hope is to find an application backup that may have been taken during the batch cycle.

If you do have HSM volume dump(s) of the volume(s) where the dataset resided, it might be worth talking to your storage guys to see if the dump volumes are eligible for dataset restore purposes. It may be that the dump classes are defined as non eligible for dataset restore. This is usually the case for offsite stored dumps.
