Hello,
Is this a sequential file or a vsam file?
If you intend to use REPRO, i do not believe REPRO is a parameter for the sort.
Please provide more detail about your files. |

Hello,
Is there some reason not to use IEBGENER or SORT? Both of them run faster than IDCAMS |

Hi,
Well we ahve a pre-defined proc running in production which uses REPRO command and we are required to pass the datacard and the files. Hence I am trying to reduce the overhead of building a new proc step and modify other elements. |

hi,
i think to use repro, both flat files must have same record length. otherwise it will throw error code 39 (record length mismatch)
pls suggest me, if i am wrong. |

A return code of 8 will arise if there is a mismatch in length of Input and
Output files...
File status 39 arises for mismatch between logical and Physical file
declarations.... |

What happened when you tried it.
You have tried it yourself - haven't you. |
