how to check for digits in a alphanumeric field...
i have declared a field as alphanumeric but it shd accept only alphabets..
how can i chk that condition...

IF it is COBOL, you can use
IS ALPHABETIC clause. icon_smile.gif

In your case you may like to use
Code:
IF VAR-NAME IS NOT ALPHABETIC
    DISPLAY 'NON ALPHABETIC DATA FOUND''.
