What does MODS E35 mean?

I have the following SORT card:

MERGE FIELDS=(2,12,CH,A,14,2,Y2S,A,16,9,CH,A)
OUTFIL FILES=01,INCLUDE=ALL
OUTFIL FILES=02,INCLUDE=(2,1,CH,NE,X'1C')
OUTFIL FILES=03,INCLUDE=ALL
MODS E35=(TESTPR,500,STEPLIB,C)


Can anyone tell me what "MODS E35=(TESTPR,500,STEPLIB,C)" means?

It is specifying a sort exit at exit 35. a better explanation is in the manuals

This control statement tells DFSORT to use a COBOL E35 exit named TESTPR which is 500 bytes long. STEPLIB tells DFSORT to search for TESTPR in the STEPLIB DD.
