FTP address space on ZOS: Connection closed by remote host

Hi all
i have been trying to set up the FTP server address space on ZOS but when i try to connect to it from my pc i recieve the following output

-------------------------------
C:\Documents and Settings\Alaa>ftp XXXXXXXXXX
Connected to XXXXXXXXXX.
220-FTPD1 IBM FTP CS V1R4 at XXXXXXXX, 12:37:30 on 2007-03-08.
220 Connection will not time out.
Connection closed by remote host.
--------------------------------

what is the problem that make the ftp closes the connection suddenly ?

Sounds to me like a firewall/access issue. What does a network sniffer trace show?

is this trace a built in tool in the ZOS or what
what is the commands needed to run this trace
