HI,
i am getting the following error when i am running macro in view mode in REXX...
it's woking fine when the file size is small but when file is bigger i am getting the following error......
"view dataset('F9340T.CYC18C.CDB.ARCHNS.D2070302') macro(archmac)"
error message:
"s->ind 'BROWSE' service not supported in the batch environment.
can anybody help on this..... |

Yes. Your region size limited you to a particular size, and when you try to VIEW a dataset which is over this size, ISPF tries to substitute the VIEW by BROWSE. BROWSE is not supported in batch.

Can you share your mission with us? May be there are other methods, but we need to know the situation.
If you have to use the VIEW service, you may try to increase your region size. In JCL, you can use the REGION parameter. For foreground processing, you have to consult your system guys.

Don't rely on it. Next month your file might be twice larger....You can add "ADDRESS ISPEXEC CONTROL ERRORS RETURN" and test the RC after each statement.
