Fairly simple, You say you have "READ ONLY" access and yet you attempt to access it with DELete and UPDate? What are ecpecting, "Oh, go ahead, I trust you.... ". |

i mean to say i can do "READ' only. the manuals say, if a file is defined with shareoptions(3,3), we should be able to do update, delete, add etc of records in the cics region. But i am not able to do any of these. |

Hello,
Is this a test file that only you will be using?
If it is a shared file, someone/something else may have it. You might be able to do "dirty" reads, but not be able to do any kind of update. |

At the time of the open, what is displayed on the console log? There should be something like these: DFHFC0952 or DFHFC0955 or something else. That will give you your answer. |
