Will you please give me the answer of why we give
PIC S9(4) COMP for LENGTH and
PIC S9(8) COMP for RCODE ?
Please send me the answer.

I can only guess that the length is a smaller number that the rcode..... |

Hello,
Please post the actual code you have questions about. Do you mean parameter LENGTH? Are you using Oracle?
Simply said, we use those definitions because that is the way those "controls" were defined when they created. When one uses things created by others, we use them the way the author delivered them.

In the CICS forum I assumed CICS, length used to be all a half word - until the flength showed up and the return code quite often had 3 bytes in it. |
