What is the need for using 2 file names in CICS Regions

When I log into a CICS Region , and give "CEMT I FI(FMSC*), the Following are the Things which i can see along with File Names and Optons of Clo,Ena,Rea,Upd etc...:

Fil(FMSC )
Fil(FMSCT )
My Questions :

1)What is the need for using 2 Files FMSC,FMSCT in CICS?
2)What is the effect on Screen access/auths if one of them is closed.

"cemt i fi(file name)" only for inquire about the file.

'clo ....' tells about what position it is in.
suppose if you are tried to read the file which is 'clo' mode it will show error. instead clo change ope then you able to read.
