File-Aid is a "Data Handling Utility".

If you have it, somewhere in TSO there will be a File-Aid option. When you select the File-Aid option, you will see a screen that will be very much like:

9 REFORMAT - Convert file from one format to another
10 COMPARE - Compare file contents
C CHANGES - Display summary of File-AID changes
T TUTORIAL - Display information about File-AID
X EXIT - Terminate File-AID and return to ISPF
