Hi,

Is it possible to transfer an archived tape file directly to NFS without moving the data to a DASD?

Thanks,
Partha

Hello,

How is the "tape" archived?

Depending on that answer, it may be possible.

For a consistent solution, i'd suggest a 2 step job that would work in most situations. The first step would be to pull the needed file(s) from the archive and stage them to disk. The second step would be a batch ftp to send the files to the desired target deleteing the dtages file(s) when the transfer was complete.
