Why do we need log datasets?
I learnt that the log dataset gets deleted once we logoff.
Moreover what if we disable the log dataset so that we need not delete it everytime prior to logoff.

Log datasets associated with TSO are not of much value. If you go to Settings, put your cursor under LOG/LIST at the top and hit enter, select log dataset defaults, and change your primary and secondary pages to zero, you will no longer receive that panel when you log off the has you choose the disposition of your log datasets. |

I believe you are talking about ISPF's log.
For ISPF dialog developers this log is valuable, mainly for debugging.
