Hi All,
Around 15 days back, I have retrieved and modified a JCL and moved into the production by creating an endevor package, but after it went into production, due to some bug, got abended...
since this was a daily job, in order to avoid the daily abends, we BACKED OUT the package...
Now I got a mail to make the necessary changes to the JCL to fix the bug, but when I saw this package today, it is in COMMITED status.
Daily run is still executing the previous version of the JCL, not the modified one, since it was backed out...
So, If I retrieve the JCL and make the changes and move it into the PRODUCTION by creating another package, will it works fine...I want the changes made last time to be in effect this time...please advise..
With Regards

Hi William,
Thanks for the reply..
Actually when I retrieved the JCL now, the JCL was retrieved with last time updated code...since the package was COMMITED, the changes were there in the production, but daily run was executing the previous version..
When I retrived the JCL, I got a warning message also, saying that, last generation was backed out using the package (poackage name)...but the SIGNOUT was successfull...
My question is, if I make the changes and move it to production, will it succefully work along with the last time modified code?
With regards

Venkat,
I think you can retrive the old version of that particular element. Go to retrive option again and give member Name, you can see all changes of the particular element, and go to that particular (which was backout) version retrive it.
Please correct me if i am wrong. |

Hi all,
I am agree to Anwesh.I just want to make it more clear.
We can retrieve the any old version of particular element in endevor.
For that we need to go to retrieve option. Then enter element name and
select summary command after list of all versions displayed you can type R(retrieve) in front of particular version.
Thanks
Santosh. |
