Need information about Mainframe Audit logs

Hi,

we are working on log management project. Does anybody have any idea on Mainframe Audit logs? How many types of audit related logs are present in Mainframes? can anybody share the login/logoff and login failure logs?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Please be more specific on what "log(s)" you refer to.

If you are looking for information about all jobs that have executed (which would include all of your CICS regions, all database regions regardless of vendor, scheduling software, tape management software, etc), talk with your system support people and they can tell you about the information captured in SMF.

What you intend to write may already exist. . . .

Hi Dick,

We are looking for Z/OS Audit related logs. To be more specific, am looking for RACF/SMF Log messages codes, Log format and sample logs. If anybody have problem in sharing real time logs, they can change names( write some dummy names there) and can share. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

It is basically about log management. Below are my requirements. Please address it.

1) How many types of logs does a mainframe generates?

2) What kind of logs does RACF generates?

3) What are the log format, messages codes and descriptions of RACF?

4) Is there anyway we can generate logs( i mean any sample code available to generate those logs)?

5) Do you have any sample logs available for RACF?
