Hello,
Do the "people" differentiate between cpu storage and dasd other media?
Are they saying huge is a problem?
Many mainframes (if not most of them) DO have huge amounts of all of the above - especially if compared to a Windows platform. Mainframes typically support a much higher volume of data and number of users compared to a Windows server. |

Hello,
If the previous was not what you asked for, try wording your question differently. By your reply, i'm not sure what your real question is.
Also, please respond to the questions asked.
As others have NOT yet responded, my guess is that they too are not sure what you are asking.
Many platforms use virtual storage - it is not a mainframe only concept.
I'm not sure if this next will answer what you want to know but most mainframes support a much higher transaction volume and much higher number of concurrent users as compared to the Windows environment. The more a system does, the more "storage" it requires. |
