Hi,
i have a batch IMS program that access DB2 for update.
In JCL i have DFSRRC00 running the program in BMP mode.
Can we prepare a DLI mode job for the same program
and still execute the program to update Db2. |

Yes Mr.Sasi u can prepare a DLI mode job for the same program. For that what u need to do is...... in DLI mode u need to specify the IMS VSAM files location of the databases which u r accessing in the job(why we need to specify the VSAM files while accessing in DLI mode bcz in BMP mode the IMS manager itself routes to the databases which are being accessed but in DLI mode we need to specify the IMS VSAM files which IMS manager cant handle incase of DLI mode) and also specify the mode of accessing in the job. Also specify the log files in the job(why this is required is in BMP mode the log information is handled by the IMS manager itself but in DLI mode we need to specify the log files where the log information is stored). |
