resolution is "delete duplicate records from in file(INFILE)"

Please provide me solution for 'How to delete duplicate records from in file(INFILE)" using sort card in JCL

Let me know if have any queries

Ramesh,

Here's a DFSORT/ICETOOL job that will do what you asked for:

Code:

//S1 EXEC PGM=ICETOOL
//TOOLMSG DD SYSOUT=*
//DFSMSG DD SYSOUT=*
//IN DD DSN=...  input file
//OUT DD DSN=...  output file
//TOOLIN DD *
SELECT FROM(IN) TO(OUT) ON(1,19,CH) FIRST
/*

Alternatively, you could use this DFSORT job:

Code:

//S2 EXEC PGM=ICEMAN
//SYSOUT    DD  SYSOUT=*
//SORTIN DD DSN=...  input file
//SORTOUT DD DSN=...  output file
//SYSIN    DD    *
  SORT FIELDS=(1,19,CH,A)
  OPTION EQUALS
  SUM FIELDS=NONE
/*

If you're not familiar with DFSORT and DFSORT's ICETOOL, I'd suggest reading through "z/OS DFSORT: Getting Started". It's an excellent tutorial, with lots of examples, that will show you how to use DFSORT, DFSORT's ICETOOL and DFSORT Symbols. You can access it online, along with all of the other DFSORT books, from:
