Hai,
Can i know
I have a sequencial file with 1000 records. i want to read recods from 250 to 700,don't use counter variable in cobol prog. i want to write jcl.

You can use this DFSORT job to do what you want:

//S1 EXEC PGM=ICEMAN
//SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=*
//SORTIN DD DSN=...  input file
//SORTOUT DD DSN=...  output file
//SYSIN DD *
  OPTION COPY
  OUTFIL STARTREC=250,ENDREC=700
