U0474 abend in JCL which involves IMS-DB2

Hi Friends,

When I ran the JOB in JCL which involves IMS-DB2 I am getting the user abend U0474.

Please suggest me possible reasons to fix this problem.

The region is abnormally terminated thats why u r getting this error

Hi Sunny,
Please,look at the program for any handled Abends.
Try to put display statements there.

As Ekta has mentioned your Region has terminated Abnormally and that's why u are getting this abend.

As this is user handled abend try to see the flow of the program by checking handled abend situation in the code.

Meanwhile if you find the correct solution please let us know.

Hi Friends,

Can you please give me the solution for user abend U0474. When I ran the IMS job its giving this abend. The following is the information about this abend in spool.

Explanation: An application program has been terminated through the use
of the /STOP REGION ABDUMP or /STOP REGION CANCEL command.

Please give me the solution to run this job successfully.

We are getting U0474 abend, while executing the following code
CALL CEETDLI USING F-GU
IO-PCB
DA-BERICHT
DISPLAY STATUS-CODE IN IO-PCB

Please help resolve this abend

your IMS region is currently down...bring it up...u should use START command...

SunnyBuuny,

Looks like you are running a jcl, tell us whether it's ment for DLI or BMP.
If it's DLI, bring down all the necessary databases in that particuler test environment, If it's BMP bring up the necessary Databases, because BMP can share the databases with On-lines.

After looking at the meaning of U0474 (by using the first link in my signature) looks like operations killed the region. Advised actions: none. Should work now after restart of the regions. Probably something else frustrated the region or operations thought it wise to shutdown regions (thus putting the databases offline) for some batch oriented job.
