Hi,
I need to select excluding a record from a very big file, is there any option on ICETOOL to do that.
For Example, I have a 2 millions records files and I need to excluding record 5001 and retain the rest.
You help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Here's a DFSORT/ICETOOL job that will do what you asked for:
Code: |
//S1 EXEC PGM=ICETOOL
//TOOLMSG DD SYSOUT=*
//DFSMSG DD SYSOUT=*
//IN DD DSN=... input file
//OUT DD DISP=MOD,DSN=... output file (MOD)
//TOOLIN DD *
COPY FROM(IN) TO(OUT) USING(CTL1)
COPY FROM(IN) TO(OUT) USING(CTL2)
/*
//CTL1CNTL DD *
OPTION STOPAFT=5000
/*
//CTL2CNTL DD *
OPTION SKIPREC=5001
/*

You can now do this kind of thing quite easily using the new SUBSET operator of DFSORT's ICETOOL available with z/OS DFSORT V1R5 PTF UK90013 (July, 2008):
Code: |
//S1 EXEC PGM=ICETOOL
//TOOLMSG DD SYSOUT=*
//DFSMSG DD SYSOUT=*
//IN DD DSN=... input file
//OUT DD DSN=... output file
//TOOLIN DD *
SUBSET FROM(IN) TO(OUT) INPUT REMOVE RRN(5001)
/*
|
For complete details on the new SUBSET function and the other new functions available with PTF UK90013, see:
