HI,
I have one input file which contains 3 field ,i want to include only those records which have only numeric data in the first field.the length of 1st field is 12 bytes and it is declared as pic x(12).
is there any sort command to omit alphanumric values and include only numeric values in the first field.

Hi Rups,
You can use a DFSORT INCLUDE condition like:

INCLUDE COND=(1,12,FS,EQ,NUM)
|
to include only numeric values.

Note that you'll need z/OS DFSORT V1R5 PTF UK90007 or DFSORT R14 PTF UK90006 (April, 2006) in order to use DFSORT's NUM function. If you don't have the April, 2006 PTF, ask your System Programmer to install it (it's free).
